It is mentioned in the Rig Veda Book no. 8 Hymn no. 33 V. no. 19

“When Brahma has made you a woman, you should lower your gaze and should not look up. You should put your feet together and you should not reveal what the garment and the veil conceals.”



So the Rig Veda says that the woman should wear the veil.

They should lower their gaze and should not stare.



It is further mentioned in Rig Veda Book no. 10 Hymn no. 85 V. no.30

“Unlovely is the person is the husband who covers his thighs with the garment of his wife. “



So the Rig Veda says that wearing the clothes of the opposite sex is prohibited.



It is further mentioned in the Mahavir Charitra Act 2 Page 71 that

When Purshuram comes, Rama tells his wife Sita that “He is our elder, please lower your gaze, and put on the veil. “



Rama tells his wife Sita to put on the veil and to lower her gaze.



If you read historical books, the books talking about the Coin Age, the Age of the Gupta and the post Gupta age, there are coins , on which there are pictures of the Indain woman wearing the veils and the veil are going upto their shoulders, some go upto the arms. There are many Indian woman in the villages who wear the veils, some of the woman even cover their faces.



So,if you analyze, even the Hindu Scriptures say that a woman should wear the veil. That the woman should lower their gaze.

Now lets look at the Christian Scriptures...

Matthew 5:27-28
You have heard that it was said, 'Do not commit adultery'
But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart

22:5 The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.





I Timothy 2:9

And I want women to be modest in their appearance. They should wear decent and appropriate clothing and not draw attention to themselves by the way they fix their hair or by wearing gold or pearls or expensive clothes.





Punishment for a women who does not cover her head

11:5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven

Noble Quran 33:36 says,"You (Muhammad) said to the man (his adopted son) whom Allah and yourself have favored: 'Keep your wife and have fear of Allah.' You sought to hide in your heart what Allah was to reveal. (Muhammad's intention to marry his adopted son's wife.) You were afraid of man, although it would have been more proper to fear Allah. And when Zayd divorced his wife, We gave her to you in marriage, so that it should become legitimate for true believers to wed the wives of their adopted sons if they divorced them. God's will must needs be done. No blame shall be attached to the Prophet for doing what is sanctioned for him by Allah." This sounds too much like Muhammad wrote a law to make something legal because Muhammad wanted to do it. Another example of this is in verse 33:50 - "Prophet, we have made lawful for you the wives to whom you have granted dowries and the slave-girls whom Allah has given you as booty; the daughters of your paternal and maternal uncles and of your paternal and maternal aunts who fled with you; and any believing woman who gives herself to the Prophet and whom the Prophet wishes to take in marriage. This privilege is yours alone, being granted to no other believer. We well know the duties We have imposed on the faithful concerning their wives and slave-girls. We grant you this privilege so that none may blame you. God is ever forgiving and merciful."

Noble Quran 66:1-6 - "Prophet, why do you prohibit that which Allah has made lawful for you, in seeking to please your wives? Allah is forgiving and merciful. Allah has given you absolution from such oaths. Allah is your Master. He is the Omniscient One, the Wise One. When the Prophet confided a secret to one of his wives; and when she disclosed it and Allah informed him of this, he made known one part of it and said nothing about the other. And when he had acquainted her with it she said: 'Who told you this?' He replied: 'The Wise One, the All-knowing, told me.' If you two turn to Allah in repentance (for your hearts have sinned) you shall be pardoned; but if you conpsire against him, know that Allah is his protector, and Gabriel, and the righteous among the faithful. The angels too are his helpers. It may well be that, if he divource you, his Lord will give him in your place better wives than yourselves, submissive to Allah, obedient, penitent, devout, and given to fasting; both formerly-wedded and virgins."
  • t is absurd, in the least, to label the Prophet’s relations with Mary as an “affair” when Allāh expressly forbids fornication and adultery. Mary was a wife of the Prophet, not a concubine. What is a “legal concubine”? There is no such allowance in Islam: any carnal relations outside of marriage is forbidden.

    The verses of the Qur’an which relates to this alleged “sexual scandal” are 66:1-5:


    “O Prophet, why dost thou forbid (thyself) that which Allah has made lawful for thee? Seekest thou to please thy wives?” (1)

    “Allah indeed has sanctioned for you the expiation of your oaths” (2)

    “And when the Prophet confided an information to one of his wives –but when she informed (others) of it, and Allah informed him of it, he made known part of it and passed over part.” (3)

    “If you both (‘Aisha and Hafsa) turn to Allah… and if you back up one another against him, then surely Allah is his Patron” (4)

    “Maybe, his Lord, if he divorce you will give him in your place wives better than you, submissive, faithful, obedient, penitent, adorers, fasters, widows, and virgins” (5)


    Mary was not a “concubine.” She was a wife of Mohammad. It is hardly credible that Mohammad would have intimate relations with Mary out of wedlock–which would be adultery. Islam (as well as the Torah) forbids this and the penalty for this is a hundred lashes, (and Mary, a Christian, would have been subjected to stoning to death). As Muhammad Ali says, “It is a fact that the Prophet never kept a slave”–(Comm. # 2517).


    If Mary was Mohammad’s “legal concubine” why then should Hafsa make such a stink if Mohammad was with Mary when Hafsa was not home (even if it was Hafsa’s turn to be with him)? How could this relation be of such bitterness to Hafsa for her to tell ‘Aisha, and for Mohammad to be “ostracized” for it? How could ‘Aisha “expose” Mohammad if he was with his “legal concubine”? Further, Mary, as a wife of the Prophet, is ranked equally with the other wives of the Prophet. Why then should the Prophet’s intimate relations with her be viewed with an evil eye?


    66:3 above speaks of “an information” the Prophet had given to one of his wives. Hafsa surprising Mohammad in bed with Mary could not be “an information” the Prophet gave to one of his wives. 66:4 speaks of the wives ‘backing up one another;’ Hafsa surprising Mohammad and Mary could not be something that the wives were ‘backing up one another’ in. How could ‘Aisha back up Hafsa in a matter when she (‘Aisha) was not present at the time of the Prophet and Mary were in bed? ‘Aisha would have been found to be a liar. What is it then that the wives were ‘backing up one another’ in against the Prophet?


    The verses quoted above (66:1-5) has nothing to do with Mary the Coptic. Verses one and three are dealing with two separate matters as careful reading of these verses and as the reports of the Tradition show. Verse one recounts the Prophet’s taking oath to keep away from his wives on account of their demands for material wants, which is in reference to Qur’an 33:28 which says: “O Prophet say to thy wives, if you desire this world’s life and its adornments…” This verse clearly is in answer to the demands of the wives of the Prophet for worldly glamour. And “The Holy Prophet,” as Malik Ghulam Farid points out “had severely taken to heart his wives’ demand for amenities of life, and in order to show his extreme displeasure had sworn to keep away from them for one month”–(comm. # 3072).

    God does the fighting. Throughout the Bible, especially Old Testament, God has done supernatural fighting and victory for His people. This way God gets all the glory.
    Since Jesus has overcome the world and death, so the believer passes thru from death to life eternal, and as Paul notes to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord, Jesus gives a new commandment to Love. So Jesus, now victorious over death, as are the believers upon Jesus, have no fear for death. It is still an an known, so there can be anxiousness, but having experienced God, and Jesus and being alive now in the spirit because of Jesus, God wants us to witness and not hurt anyone. Christian martyrs allow themselves to be killed, for the testimony of Jesus many times. We have eternal life, so prefer not to kill others, because we want them to have the opportunity to find Jesus and be saved for all eternity. Jesus states you kill with the sword you will die by the sword. The power of God protects us. plus with the power of God, we can raise others from the dead, as testified in the New Testament of the Bible. So Christianity's God is a God of love, peace. Although Wrath is coming, but it comes by God, not His followers .
    At the very least read New Testament Bible Book of Revelation, for the main event, in the shortest pages.

    Catholic practices, had veiled heads in Church, as well as Sisters, nuns, to about 1970's.
    However with modern times that has changed.
    We should be more concerned with a person's soul and spirit than the way they are dressed.
    Especially since trying to witness and evangelize others. People come to the Church and Jesus as sinners, dressed as sinners. Jesus was more concerned with a person's heart. In the Old Testament as selecting King David, God looks on a person's heart. And Jesus dined with sinners. He states the sick, sinner, evil need the doctor, salvation, Jesus.
    The proud can look good and dress right, but be evil, wrong in their hearts, inner being.
    Which is more important, clothes or your spirit, thoughts mind, heart?
  • Compare to Islam the Hinduism has given more freedom for followers.

    There are no strict rules like you should wear burqa or we will give fatwa against you.
